Against Islamic Republic, for Freedom and Equality!

Support the struggles of Students in Iran!

Universities in Iran are an important battleground for people fight for emancipation. Student protests are a part of Iranian people’s huge fight for Freedom and Equality and maintaining a humane society. Every year in Student’s day (December the 7th), Student upheavals in Iran are on their peak of challenging Islamic Republic. This year, students are welcoming Student’s Day while Islamic Republic has strengthened its policy of oppression and intimidation in universities. Resistant students, are suspended or dismissed from University, faced with prison sentences or killed mysteriously. Universities of Iran, more than a place for Education, have become a place for mobilization of Security Forces of Regime and practice of reactionary Islamic regulations to chain the students.

The Student’s fight against Reactionaries ruling and against religious regulations and law in society and university has always been met with police forces of Islamic Republic. So many times Student’s struggles have turn to bloodshed with many losing their lives and more people die slowly in Islamic Republic prisons. But, despite the policy of oppression and prosecution of Islamic Republic, Student’s struggle with ruling Reactionaries has not stopped. This Year, like others, Students are getting ready for Student’s Day (December the 7th). They are organizing a vast protest against ruling regime and its reactionary law and regulations. Free Political Prisoners, Freedom of clothes, No to Compulsory Hijab and segregation of men and women, End to Student’s oppression and Freedom of Speech are among Student’s demands.

Students need International Support!

University in Iran is a core for freedom and emancipation of all Iranian people. Therefore, they deserve your outmost support.

As struggle of Tehran Bus Drivers was met with warm International support, same should happen with Student’s struggles. As Trade Unions and Human rights defending organizations supported Bus Workers, Student Unions, Trade Unions, Women Rights organizations and human rights bodies should support the Students.

Don’t leave the libertarian Iranian students alone!

Widely cover the Students’ struggles news. Don’t leave them alone in their fight against ruling reactionaries in Iran for Freedom and Equality. Try to support them with any possible form like organizing meetings, sending letters or support petitions and etc. condemn Islamic Republic for Student’s oppression. Demand the release of students. Demand prosecution and trial of Student’s murderers. Support student’s demands for falsification of religious law and regulations in university. Support their want for an end to the policy of segregation of men and women in university campus and society. Support their demand of putting security and oppressor forces out of university. Support their No to compulsory Hijab and their demand for an end to Sexual Apartheid!

Victory to Student’s struggle for Freedom and Equality!

Long Live International Solidarity with Iranian students!

To Students of Frankfurt University!

Long live an International and Red Student’s Day

Fellow fighters in Frankfurt University!

We were informed by International Committee against Stoning and our comrades, Shahnaz Moratab and Mina Ahadi, that you in your 500-strong general assembly in 30th November of 2006 have done something that will be remembered in the history of student protests. You have decided to actively support the students and people struggles in Iran against the Islamic Republic and for Liberty and Equality. You have founded a committee in support of Iranian people and in struggle against stoning and execution and Islamic tyranny, in struggle against sexual apartheid, unbelievable rightlessness of women and struggle for freedom of political prisoners and etc. you are actively in our side! This is an action that we long awaited. Our degree of happiness is not to be described and please let us to offer our appreciation on behalf of Iranian students and Youth and all Iranian people.

Fellow fighters and dear friends in Frankfurt!

Our fight and yours is for emancipation of human. We all are in struggle against Capitalism and different burdens that it has created for humanity for changing the world. The Islamic Republic and its Islamic Terrorism are only one side of the barbarity that is ruling the world. Militarism of Western governments under the USA command, and active support of governments like Germany, is another side of anti-humane world that they have made for us. We have declared war on all of them and we are happy that you, in Frankfurt University, have come to our help, more active than ever. We are so happy to see your call for gathering in front of Islamic Republic Consulate in 7th of December, the day of protest for Iranian Students. Our common appeal against one of the most brutal regimes of the world should be heard by people of the world. For your information, Islamic Regime has declared that they are going to perform acts such as “artificial earthquakes” and they also have prosecuted a large section of Worker’s activists and have brutally attacked political prisoners in prisons. They are doing so with the hope that with creating atmosphere of terror and intimidation they can stop the Student’s day. But we are sure that this year students will counter the Islamic Republic more Radical, more libertarian, more Humanistic and More Socialistic than ever. And your action is an effective help to this struggle of us.

Please accept our rewards with the hope of vaster international solidarity between students, youth and people of the world for a free and equal world. We demand the widest possible contacts with you.

4,000 March for Students Day in Tehran; Solidarity Rallies across Iran

When things heat up, they heat up. Reports of all sorts are filtering out of Iran from yesterday. Some are headline news stories: Ahmadinejad condemned for watching dancing women. Some are rumors: Ayatollah Khamenei is on his deathbed in the hospital. And some are apparently relegated to blogs and Iranian newsites: inspiring stories of students rallying for change.

The protest yesterday at Tehran University was apparently announced in advance by the national student union, Tahkim Vahdat. One blog carried live updates on the protest and noted that despite riot police present to make arrests, students reportedly broke open the gates to enter the campus. Gooya News also covered the protests (scroll down for photos). The protest followed a similar rally the day before at Sahand University in Tabriz, and smaller rallies were held on campuses across Iran.

4,000 students marched in Tehran. "Death to Dictators" was chanted by some. One speaker declared to the crowd: "Our struggle is fighting against internal oppression and outside imperialist threats."

Very interesting. Too bad there appears to have been no international media coverage

Student Protests in Tehran 6th Dec 2006

Around 1500 Iranian students protested in Tehran on Wednesday 6th Dec on the eve of Iran’s national student day.
Although some news agencies have tried to portray the demonstration as a pro‘reform rally, the students slogans/placards were clearly more radical :

Socialism is our way, it is the way to emancipation

Socialism or Barbarism

Students , Workers, Teachers – Unite and Fight

Freedom for political prisoners

We don’t want war- We don’t want nuclear weapons, we just want a better life

The way to human salvation, annihilation of the Taleban ( a reference to the Islamic regime in Iran , students often refer to it as the Taleban )

True Emancipation, humanist Socialism

Sexual Apartheid shows contempt for human beings

Taleban Republic ( Reference to Iran’s Islamic Regime) is denial of human rights

Equality, Freedom, these are the people’s slogans

Students fight, reactionaries tremble

Execution must be abolished today

Free all student activists in prison

Students are awake, they despise reactionaries

The University is alive and will remain alive

Freedom for independent student organizations

(all slogans from Commite Sarassari Daneshjouyan Keshvar – National Committee for Iranian students)

Police blocked off roads surrounding the campus. Thousands of students angry with repression within the university, broke the doors of the Faculty of Science during clashes with the security forces. Student activists say that since Ahmadinejad's election 181 students have been summoned to university disciplinary boards and 105 of them were suspended as part of a crackdown against politically active students. We want all students to be able to register. We want political groups to act freely at universities,' said Mehdi Aminzadeh, who is among a handful students who activists say are still barred from registering.
In the university campus, students condemned new suppressive measures and up coming elections by chanted “Down with tyranny,” “Down with dictatorship,” “free all political prisoners,” and “Freedom, equality, election boycott.”
